Lucky

I got this idea from Jana. My sister Suz's cute friend.
What you do is put your iPod or MP3 Player on Shuffle, and for each question, put the title of the song that comes up.

1. IF SOMEONE SAYS "IS THIS OKAY" YOU SAY? Let it Go -- Michael McLean - haha I love that!
2. WHAT WOULD BEST DESCRIBE YOUR PERSONALITY? Again -- Jessie Clark Funk
3. WHAT DO YOU LIKE IN A GUY/GIRL? You are loved -- Josh Groban
4. HOW DO YOU FEEL TODAY? Kiss Me -- Sixpence None the Richer
5. WHAT IS YOUR LIFE'S PURPOSE? You Can't Stop the Beat -- cast of Hairspray hahahaha so is my life's purpose to stop the beat? Or that I want to, but can't? :) 'Cause I honestly do feel like life is one giant merry-go-round that I can't seem to find my way off of to rest for a while! (No - I don't want to die!! I just want to rest and get well, but life does not stop for that. Know what I mean?) OK, I think I'm going a little crazy with this analyzing of completely random answers to life questions!!! LOL!
6. WHAT IS YOUR MOTTO? Little Sparrow -- David Cook
7. WHAT DO YOUR FRIENDS THINK OF YOU? Always Waiting -- Stellar Kart -Hmmm...
8. WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT VERY OFTEN? Lullaby -- Dixie Chicks
9. WHAT IS 2 + 2? Talk -- Coldplay
10. WHAT DO YOU THINK OF YOUR BEST FRIEND? Let Love In -- Goo Goo Dolls
11. WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THE PERSON YOU LIKE? Hold On -- Stellar Kart - Yep, I'm just holding on for that one.
12. WHAT IS YOUR LIFE STORY? Outside -- Aqualung
13. WHAT DO YOU WANT TO BE WHEN YOU GROW UP? My Life -- Billy Joel
14. WHAT DO YOU THINK WHEN YOU SEE THE PERSON YOU LIKE? I Saw -- Matt Nathanson
15. WHAT DO YOUR PARENTS THINK OF YOU? Sweet Caroline -- David Archuleta
16. WHAT WILL YOU DANCE TO AT YOUR WEDDING? Held -- Natalie Grant - Oo this is good - have you checked out my playlist? I didn't make it play automatically because sometimes I don't like that and didn't want it to be buggy.
17. WHAT WILL THEY PLAY AT YOUR FUNERAL? Along the Wall -- Leigh Nash -she's got such a pretty voice.
18. WHAT IS YOUR HOBBY/INTEREST? Chances -- Kirby Heybourne
19. WHAT IS YOUR BIGGEST SECRET? A Break In the Clouds/Look Up -- Steven Kapp Perry
20. WHAT DO YOU THINK OF YOUR FRIENDS? Accidentally in Love -- Counting Crows
21. WHAT'S THE WORST THING THAT COULD HAPPEN? Who Knew -- Pink
22. HOW WILL YOU DIE? I Will Not Be Moved -- Natalie Grant -funny.
23. WHAT IS THE ONE THING YOU REGRET? Let it Be -- Superchick -Wow that's cool. I only liked the song for about one listen except I do like the words, but I really like that answer.
24. WHAT MAKES YOU LAUGH? What About Everything --Carbon Leaf
25. WHAT MAKES YOU CRY? Maybe This Christmas -- Leigh Nash
26. WILL YOU EVER GET MARRIED? Life In One Day -- Howard Jones
27. WHAT SCARES YOU THE MOST? You Can Make It -- Michael McLean
28. DOES ANYONE LIKE YOU? The Fear You Won't Fall -- Joshua Radin
29. IF YOU COULD GO BACK IN TIME, WHAT WOULD YOU CHANGE? Which Part Is Mine -- Michael McLean
30. WHAT HURTS RIGHT NOW? Shut Your Eyes -- Snow Patrol
31. WHAT WILL YOU POST THIS AS? Lucky -- Jason Mraz and Colbie Caillat

Funny how there are actually a few great answers from such a random thing! It was fun listening to all these songs - many of which I hadn't listened to in a while. I have decided to enjoy the shuffle feature more often. Don’t laugh at all the Michael McLean. I like me some Sunday -and other days- uplifting music! lol And how good is the ancient music of Howard Jones?? :D

Happiness Is...

Parents who are awesome enough, and who love my son enough, that they would take him to St. George for 4 days with them.

4 sweet days of peace and quiet!

Resting whenever I need to without guilt.

Cleaning, and having things stay clean.

Using my energy for things I want (not just need) to do!

Talking to Jake on the phone and hearing about the fun time he's having and the friends he's hanging out with.

Hugging my sweet kid when he comes home safe and sound from a fun trip!

Thanks for taking him Mom and Dad - I feel refreshed and ready to handle life again.

"This little church showed up on my right..."

I thought this was a cool story. I love the fact that the Lord was preparing her and that she had found BYU-TV on her own. I have wondered what people do when they come across that channel if they aren't members. This cute lady was really ready to join the church.

From the LDS Church News:
Dorothy Wagner doesn't really care if she remembers dates of events in her life. "I don't attempt to weigh myself down with them," said the 104 year old.
Dorothy Wagner joined the Church at age 103, perhaps one of the oldest to be baptized. She does know, however, that it was Easter Sunday a year ago when she turned her 1987 Cadillac into the parking lot of the meetinghouse for the Ash Flat Branch, North Little Rock Arkansas Stake. "I didn't know what the Church was," she said. "I was just out driving around. It was Easter. This little church showed up on my right." The petite, less than 5-feet-tall centenarian walked in and introduced herself. Branch members remember her declaring, "I'm here!" But she recalls it was more like, "Where am I?" And she was delighted when she discovered it was the same church as her favorite television channel, BYU-TV, where she most enjoys programs featuring the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and the scripture roundtable discussions. "I stay up all night listening to the scripture discussions. I just love to hear them." So at age 103, Dorothy Wagner became a member of the Church, perhaps one of the oldest to be baptized. She has made an impact. She was the featured speaker on Sept. 27 at the North Little Rock Arkansas Stake Center for a dinner prior to the broadcast of the 2008 General Relief Society Meeting. "We're just in awe of this lady," said Kathleen Bassman, branch Relief Society president. She said Sister Wagner still lives alone in her nearby home. "She is just happy and laughs and jokes. Everyone just loves her. She loves the Lord and is not afraid to tell anybody and she loves the Church." "What I appreciate are the members are so sweet and good and helpful. They have all the qualities that Church people should have," Sister Wagner said. She was born on Sept. 2, 1904. She and her husband, Howard, who died in 1983, had two sons.

Perspective

Hi!
So... I feel pretty un-bloggy at the moment. But I thought I would share someone else's blog post that inspired me. This blog is written by an LDS girl who lives in Lehi or Alpine or somewhere around there. I found her blog through some other crafty blogs. Her post is called "passion and life's callings." I love that she celebrates the mundane. I have found housework so monotonous, endlessly repetitive, and seemingly unworthwhile that I fight it. You do the dishes and clean the floor, and guess what? It is all a mess again the next day. It can be very tiresome. I think it makes a big difference if you are not spit on for what you use all your energy doing, like Keith did (sorry for the negativity there) and that left a bad taste in my mouth for something I did once have more of an appreciation and excitement for. I need to let that go somehow. Kelly's post gave me a fresh perspective! Check it out here. It IS all worth it. It blesses everyone in the home...the people we care about the most. When the household runs smoothly, there is more peace and enjoyment. We feel taken care of. And that is what home is all about. What about finding enjoyment in simple domesticity again? I know the end product would make me feel better. What about having clean clothes hanging in your closet, and fresh towels after the shower? What about looking around the kitchen and not seeing piles of paper and things to do? What if I didn't have that always hanging over me? Can I get over the apathy I feel? How do you feel about housework? Is it trivial or meaningful? Fulfilling or drudgery?
